Knoxville

The last leg of our trip was to Knoxville, TN, to visit Phil's 98 year old grandmother. Ninny & Grandaddy Jean also met us there, and we all enjoyed several fun days together.

Louisville & Winchester, KY

After we hit up Columbus, we drove to Louisville to spend the weekend. There, we saw several of our old friends. While we had fun at Phil and Kelly's party, parties are just not the same when you have kids! Ahhh....growing up. We also enjoyed seeing Emily & Nick and meeting Avery's future girlfriend, Annie. Teaching our children the art of gambling at an early age was on the to-do list (just kidding) when we visited Churchill Downs two weeks after the Derby. We certainly miss Louisville and hope to return to it soon! After our quick visit to the L, we drove through Winchester, KY on our way to Knoxville, and visited with Phil's former boss on his farm.

Home of the Buckeyes

Sooo....back to our trip! After the kids and I visited Cleveland for about a week, Phil drove up to The Cleve to meet us. Phil and I enjoyed a lovely date night in Little Italy and then we proceeded to drive south the next morning for the remainder of our trip. Our first stop was to Columbus, to see a couple of my college friends and for us all to go "gaga" over our new babies. Congrats to Martina and Joe on their supercute Vinny! Vinny, other than my own children, you are the SMALLEST baby I have ever held for the LONGEST amount of time. This is an Emily record. Another congrats to Janet & Quenton for Baby Boy Edwards due in October!

Bye Bye Willie

This weekend, we were saddened to give up our 4 year old Westie, Willie. He was getting too snippy with Avery, and with the addition of Kayla, it was becoming too hard to supervise a nervous pooch and an overly friendly toddler. While it was devastating to make the decision to let Willie go, we found a wonderful Westie rescue organization. When we dropped Willie off at the regional representative's house in NC, she was immediately in love with him and wanted to add him to her existing pack of four dogs. However, she kept her promise to a retired couple with a 13 year old female Westie, and let them meet Willie. She feels Willie has found his "forever home" and the couple reports that he is doing amazing at their house. We love you and will miss you greatly, Willie!!

Cleveland Rocks!

Maw Maw and Paw Paw Sattelmeyer also took us to Tower City in downtown Cleveland via the Rapid Transit train that runs by our house. Avery was so excited to take his first "choo choo" ride and eat at his first Hard Rock Cafe! Cleveland Rocks!

Cleveland Fun

"Maw Maw" and "Paw Paw" Sattelmeyer took the kids and I to several cool places while we were in town. Again, the trips were tiring with two kids, but still lots of fun!
