My friend and I had the brilliant idea to walk our kids to the duckpond one evening at dusk. It turned out to be a lot farther than we realized; approximately 1.5 miles each way. By the time we made it there, the kids were pretty tired and overcompensating with wild and crazy behavior. Hence, why the only two ducks in the pond wanted to have nothing to do with the kids or the generous amounts of bread being thrown to (at) them. But we made it back safely and everyone slept well that night!!
