Our First (and Last) Visit to the Coastal Carolina Fair

We have never attended the Carolina Coastal Fair in Ladson, on several friends' recommendations.  But this year, I had a short day at work and decided on an impulse to pick the kids up from school and check out this fair.  Ummmm....it had been described to me as "ghetto meets redneck".   Yup, I think that's a fair description.  The kids had fun in spite of my appall.  And unfortunately, I had to interact way too much with the creepy fair people, as Kayla was LESS THAN A HALF AN INCH too short for some of the rides.  There were some cool operators who would roll their eyes at the measuring stick and wave her onto the rides.  But there were some real creepers who enjoyed their power trip of telling a 3 year old she is too short to ride on a rotating tea cup.  Nice.  Oh well....if anyone has this future problem, just give your daughter a high ponytail or put toilet paper in her shoes.
