Decorating the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree

With our impending move to Ohio next year, the last thing The Grownups felt like doing was putting up our Christmas decorations.  But two points for good ole nostalgia, however, as we realized that there was no way we could cheat the kids from putting up the Jean family christmas tree for one last time in the only home they have ever known.  So down came a few boxes from the attic, and up went our pathetic and slightly ghetto Christmas tree (we say that, but we are actually quite fond of our underdog tree).  The kids enjoyed putting up a few decorations and were excited to open the tree ornaments that we bought for them during our trip to the Christmas store in the Smoky Mountains this summer.  I hung my Charleston flip-flop ornament for the last time, and Phil was excited to adorn the tree with his Tony the Tiger ornament that MawMaw sent in celebration of his new job with Kellogg.  One chapter is about to close, but so many more are ready to begin.  I do have to say, I will miss putting up Christmas decorations in flip-flops and t-shirts.  We better invest in some warm winter jackets.
