While my mom was in town, Phil and I had some free time and decided to try our hands at kayaking. After one time, we were hooked! We rowed for hours in a tandem kayak (talk about marital counseling!) and got a bit carried away following a pod of dolphins out towards the sea. On the paddle back UP river, we enjoyed checking out other nature views in between intense cardio interval training. We even saw a sea turtle, which apparently is a rare sighting in that area! We quickly took the kids back with us and they had a blast too. We briefly discussed buying our own kayaks, but considering that we live near a bunch of freshwater that is inhabited by alligators, we will hold off on that dream until we move.
