A Trip to the Children's Museum

The kids and I went to the Childrens' Museum early one Saturday morning right at opening time.  I love this place, but it can get overcrowded very quickly with wild and crazy kids, helicopter moms, or worse, parents that don't supervise their children.  Going early ensures that we have the place to ourselves for at least the first hour.  When all of the birthday party kids start showing up around 11am, that is our cue to exit!

The water room is always a big hit...
but not as big of a hit as the pirate ship!  Complete with costumes and a pirate dungeon!
Avery is a natural at this pirate pose.
Kayla really got into her role-playing.  Her favorite thing to do was to lock Mommy in jail.  Payback??
Locking her brother up in chains.
 Charrrleston Treasure.
The art room was another place where we spent a lot of time doing various crafts.  The kids especially loved painting.
Kayla called her painting "candy corn".  Right on, Kayla.
Avery painted a scene complete with fires, fire trucks, the sun, and a cloud.
I am not sure what this painting was called.
 Fun on a firetruck.

 Kayla gardening.
I was tempted to pick some of these vegetables in the garden to compensate me for the hefty ticket prices.

This pirate spent a lot of time in jail.

Kayla might have a successful career in law enforcement.
