A Visit to Uncle David's

Last Sunday, we made a trip to Fayetteville to see my brother and his family, including my new nephew, David Morgan Sattelmeyer II.

Avery enjoyed playtime with his cousins, Athena and Little Jonathan:

Too excited to take a nap (and also not used to being so high up in a playpen anymore...don't worry, he was closely watched!!):

Snuggle time with Uncle David:

Avery is fascinated by Uncle David's Special Forces hat. David had to explain to me three times what the symbols on his hat stood for; I didn't get any of it except that it is BadAss. It kind of made me nervous to see my baby boy wearing that BadAss hat...

Cousin Athena teaching Avery all about her favorite swing:

A testament of wills:

One of our nation's finest, Hawk, taking time out from his rigorous schedule of kicking some serious Bad Ass to kindly entertain our child. Other talents include karaoke and coming up with improv R-rated lyrics to popular children's tunes.

(Look at Avery's face; he must have heard the video clip of Hawk singing "Mr Rogers"):

The star of the show himself--David Morgan II. Holding a tiny baby again (okay, he's really 2 months old and 13 pounds) was very frightening to Aunt Emily and lasted only long enough for this picture to be taken:
