This past week, Phil was sent to work at a plant in Winchester, Kentucky, and I decided to accompany him in order to see our KY friends. In the past 2 months, I thought that South Carolina was growing on me (it is!!) and that maybe this would be our final state to reside in and set up the Jean camp for life (it might!!). However, two minutes after crossing the Kentucky-Tennessee border, my confidence was wavering. Kentucky is truly one of the most beautiful states that I have ever set foot in. Everything is lush GREEN with beautiful deep blue skies, and even the summer rain is light and smells sweet (where we live now, when it rains, it POURS!). We spent the week visiting Ninny & Grandaddy, spending time with our Louisville friends, catching "Romeo & Juliet" at Shakespeare in the Park, enjoying beautiful scenery and animals on Phil's former boss's farm, and driving through Lexington while reminiscing about our early dating years. Avery, as usual, was a champ! Two ten hour drives with a broken air conditioner and three changes of homes did not phase him a bit (he continued to sleep through the night, which was what we were worried about the most). As well-behaved Avery was on this trip, when we pulled up to our house and stepped out of the car into 93 degree heat with 70% humidity, Avery truly seemed to relax. Home, sweet home!!
