The Great Smoky Mountains

Since we got married, Phil and I have many years full of wonderful memories spending time with his family in the Great Smoky Mountains.  This particular cabin is in Wear's Valley and was absolutely gorgeous.  While we enjoyed our trip, we were saddened by the reason for it: Grandmother Joy's memorial service.  The service took place in Eusebia Presbyterian church, which is 226 years old.  Avery and Kayla spent much of the service sitting with Ninny and Grandaddy.  Kayla even accompanied Grandaddy on the pulpit during his eulogy and (for once) she was very quiet and still.

Kayla *hearts* Ninny.
"Brackfast" with Grandaddy on the backporch of the cabin.
Technology is wonderful.
Look at that pout because she can't go outside again.  She gets lots of practice with that pout.
Chilling on the front porch with her new fish "purse".
 Nope, no money in there.

Kayla knows how to schmooze the men.  Hanging out with Mr. Johnson in his home.
 Taking turns on everyone's laps.
Kayla is not afraid of this bear rug.
Dragging the bear to Ninny for a closer inspection.
"NICE NICE, omniverous animal with the sharp pointy teeth."
A great view of Wear's Valley from the Johnson's cabin.  I kept looking at my camera in frustration, going, "Why the heck are these pictures so....so.... smoky???"  Umm, duh.
