Avery Jean

Everyone keeps asking what the kids are up to these days.  Here is a sneak peek:

Avery finally went to the dentist for the first time at the ripe old age of three.  I completely disagree with the "rule" of taking your kid at either one year of age or 6 months after their first tooth erupts.  As long as your kid brushes his or her teeth, they are completely fine.  I can brush, floss, and count my kid's teeth while he is lying on his back all by myself and save my insurance company mucho dinero, thank you very much.  I love how the dentist and his hygienist were practically salivating at Kayla, trying to get me to make an appointment for her.  Now, if I didn't bring my first born child in to see you for three years, don't expect to see the second or any subsequent children in your office until they are at least four.  :)

Avery has gotten pretty good at strumming his little guitar that Ninny and Grandaddy got him for Christmas.  His favorite movie right now is the Muppets and he loves to play the guitar and sing from it's soundtrack.

This is a video of Avery singing "The Rainbow Connection" while strumming Phil's playdough version of Kermit the Frog's banjo.  I love how at the end, Kayla throws food at him.

Avery loves to ride his bike down to the "Alligator Pond" (although technically, all the of the ponds in the neigborhood have their own alligator, but this one is his favorite).  If you zoom in on the picture, you can see the alligator's head (behind the center clump of grass at the edge of the pond).

Avery is a building machine.  He plays with his legos and megablocks all of the time. This first picture is of his "zoo".  The next pic is of a "racetrack" that he built all by himself.  He now has to build mostly on the kitchen table, as Kayla is known to knock his towers down or steal the blocks he was using....and then run to the far side of the room, laughing hysterically.  I would be lying if I said I wasn't slightly amused by it.

Avery plays soccer at school once a week.  I think he is pretty good, but I admit that I am totally biased.  :)
