Pub Crawl

This video shows Avery's first successful transition from sitting to all fours without taking a major nosedive (that came later, of course). He is getting sooooooo close to crawling, it is unreal. If you have noticed over the past couple of months, his floor playtime has evolved from playing on 1 small blanket...to 2 small blankets next to one another...to a full-sized comforter! And the way he wiggles, rolls, and army crawls, we are going to have to upgrade to a King-size blanket pretty soon. I guess it would be easier to just vaccuum the carpet once in a while....

Fall Fun

Corn Maize

Here are some pics from a Sunday afternoon at a corn maze close to where we live. Somehow, South Carolina corn just doesn't compare to midwest corn. :)

Tuning to "A"avery Sharp

This is a video of Avery and Phil tuning his banjo! Avery was surprisingly on-key for most of it before I grabbed the camera, but he was still fairly close once the camera was rolling. This is kind of a long video, but if you stick it through at the end, Avery dances to "Turkey in the Straw" (please ignore Phil's rusty playing...he hasn't had much opportunity to practice over the past year, understandably!!). Oh yeah, sorry for the r-rated dog activity at about 40 seconds in...

Babies Don't Lie

Ghetto Fabulous

What. That's right, we bought a onesie from last year. What. It was on clearance for less than a dollar. What. Yeah, we used a marker to change the year instead of buying a new one for full price. Is that a problem? What.

Happy 6 Months!!!

Avery turned 6 months old last Tuesday. At his Well Visit this past week, he weighed 17lbs 8oz, measured 27 inches long, and his head circumference was 44cm around. Once again, he falls quite neatly in the 50th percentile of the infant growth percentile chart. The nurse calls Avery average; our pediatrician calls his growth "ideal". I like the last one better, as my child is anything but average!

Mommy & Me

Like Father, Like Son

Soooo....everyone is starting to think that Avery looks like Phil. My Dad thinks that he has Phil's features but my attitude (when he sticks his lower lip out). My pediatrician said that he sees a lot of Phil in Avery and the man has met Phil less than 5 times (weellllll...maybe more than that, as we can be "those" parents who rush their child to the pediatrician for every little cough and booger). So, it only seems fair that Avery has taken a liking to some of the things that Phil enjoys...Tech (uggh; can't wait until he fits into his Ohio State gear!!!), banjos, guitars....and of course, making Mommy laugh!!
